I decided
to go with the dark chocolate Reese’s because I think they’re a tad less sweet
and a bit closer to the Quest ones.
1. Macros
1. Macros
Reese’s (42
g): 210 kcal, 14 g Fat, 23 g Carbs (2 g Fiber, 19 g Sugars), 4 g Protein
Quest (50 g): 240 kcal, 17 g Fat, 10 Carbs (3 g Fiber, 1 g Sugar, 3 g Erythritol), 20 g Protein
If you break the calories down it’s 500 kcal/100 g for the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and 480 kcal/100 g for the Quest ones, so don’t be fooled by the serving size. This round obviously goes to the Quest Protein Peanut Butter Cups because they're low carb and high protein compared to the original ones.

2. Texture
The peanut
butter filling of the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups is very rich and creamy, we
all know and love it. The Quest filling is kind of dry and pasty and it sticks
to the roof of your mouth. Obviously the Reese’s are covered in real chocolate
that melts in your mouth, the Quest chocolate is harder and “drier”. This round
goes to the original Reese’s.
3. Taste
3. Taste
You can
definitely taste that the Quest Peanut Butter Cups aren’t sweetened with sugar
but with Erythritol and Stevia, especially in the aftertaste. The Reese’s ones
are a lot sweeter and taste more “real”, because duh, they are. This round also goes
to Reese’s.
Conclusion
It's no surprise, we all know that the Original Peanut Butter Cups taste better and that the Quest ones have better macros. I think the Protein Cups taste pretty good and come fairly close to the real ones. But I couldn’t give up Reese’s and stick with Quest for the rest of my life, sometimes I just want the real thing. They’re both winners in my eyes.
